- BATTERIES -- Georgia Tech recycles all batteries, regardless of type or size. Primary responsibility for this program rests with Environmental Health and Safety Hazardous Materials Office. Not all batteries, however, need to be processed through EH&S; in some instances, contractual or other arrangements may call for the exchange of "old" for "new" batteries. EH&S in conjunction with the Office of Environmental Stewardship has established several collection points which should make recycling of small amounts of small and medium-sized (alkaline and rechargeable) batteries more convenient. Details are listed at www.stewardship.gatech.edu/batteries.php.
